Heavy snow had fallen overnight in Oxford and I made sure that I was the first one on the airfield the capture the quiet beauty and stillness of the morning. While training in Arizona, I captured this picture of a friend completing pre-flight checks.

I visted Sky Harbor Airport to 'spot' several times while I was in the US. This time I managed to catch a US Airways A320 departing at sunset.
Training started early some days- this was the view on one occasion heading out to our training area.

A droplet of water captured on the static wick of a Warrior. The wick discharges static electricity from the aircraft safely into the atmosphere
Sunset at Goodyear Airport was usually spectacular due to fine dust and sand in the atmoshphere. This day was no different.
These aircraft were brought to Goodyear to be stored or dismantled.
My last flight in a Seneca after passing my exams- from Oxford to Alderney then Le Touquet and back again. The English Channel was suprisingly calm.
Sunset over London
Sunset over southern England is an amazing sight and this day in January was clear and beautiful.
Mid-February over Europe and this view captures half of The Netherlands and all of Amsterdam. Amsterdam Airport- Schipol- can be seen just left-of-centre
Our arrival to Stansted sometimes routed around the west of London. This clear day meant that we could see almost all of it!
Eastbound over the border between Myanmar and China, the sun is just about to rise over the horizon. The bright 'star' is Venus.
Looking through the rear of the engine, you can see the straight guide vanes and curved fan blades.
Mt Rainier and the suburbs of Seattle, on apporach to Tacoma Airport
Returning from New York, the sun rises over the Atlantic.
A lot of the flights between Europe and North America have to fly along corridors called 'Tracks'. The specks of light you can see in the sky are actually aircraft ahead of us and offsetting by 1 or 2 miles to the right of track.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime photo. We were flying from Houston to Dubai, approaching the southern tip of Greenland at sunrise, just about to enter North Atlantic airspace. This British Airways 747 Jumbo Jet was just ahead on exactly the same airway. I could see the scene developing and as we entered the airspace he offset 1nm right and we offset 2nm right (a standard procedure over the ocean) - and as the sun rose it was perfect!
